Masks are still the rule at school

Even though the statewide mask mandate will be lifted on April 10, the mask requirements for K-12 schools will remain in place until June 15. Local officials, like a school board or county council, do not have the legal authority to end the school mask requirement before this date.

Mask mandate still in place for schools

A bill approved by Utah lawmakers during the 2021 legislative session ends the state’s mask mandate starting April 10. Although the state of Utah will lift the statewide mask mandate, schools in the state are exempt from the legislation. Tooele County School District will continue to follow all previously established health guidelines.

Utah's School Climate Survey

In the Student and School Safety Assessment Bill, (HB120), the State Board of Education was directed to create an anonymous School Climate Survey to be administered to students, parents, teachers, staff, administrators, and school resource officers. We are requesting parents/guardians take a moment to complete the survey for their student's school. Thank you!

New tech for Transportation Department

This school year, Tooele County School District’s Transportation Department is testing out a program to help bus drivers ensure students are getting on the correct bus and off at the right stop. (To read more, click on the title)

TCSD welcomes the Gifted Enrichment Model

Beginning August of 2021, Tooele County School District will begin the Gifted Enrichment Model for students who qualify.
This will be the first time the school district has incorporated a gifted education program, which is designed to help challenge learners who are advanced by giving them equitable access at their neighborhood elementary school. For 2021-2022, the Gifted Enrichment Model will start with students in 3rd grade, and each year the program will add a grade level and continue to grow. (To learn more about GEM, click on the title)
